Martyn Calleia is the founder of Special Terrace House (builders licence no 74692c) he comes from a good Catholic family of five boys and is the son of Alex and Gloria who look after the accounting side of the business whilst Andrea, his wife looks after the bookwork and helps out with showroom presentations.
From a very early age Martyn loved inventing and crafting foam and wooden boats and aeroplanes to pass the time with his brothers at Dural and on the Central Coast, where he grew up, and this is were he fist developed the passion for designing and creating things.
Prior to working on Terrace Houses, Martyn built and supervised additions in North Sydney. One of these included a large double brick architectural addition in Lindfield in 1997.
In brief, the addition/renovation involved,
Large scale demolition, excavation, cantilevered and suspended concrete slabs,
double brickwork and structural openings to the existing structure as seen above.
