Featured Bathroom

One popular request to turn a large terrace house into something grand is the rear bathroom conversion.

This is best done in the first floor level of the rear skillion wing (after the construction of an attic bedroom) to convert the existing small rear bedroom into a large bathroom and the existing bathroom area into either a large walk in robe or a laundry / storage area. Here the modern effect of a surround light box was used with a concealed fan in the blue trim. The mirrored ceiling reflects the compact architecture employed here.

Here is an example of a floor waste in a Crema Marfill marble floor. The centre of the waste is also tiled to create a timeless effect. Surface water collected simply runs between the two chrome circles which repeat the circular theme of the bath the pan and the sink.

A step is created in the shower to avoid using a framed showerscreen or a hob.The tile gauge is also aligned on either side of the step both at the door to the shower and viewed through the glass.

Viewed through the frameless shower screen the wall-hung pan with chrome fixings gives the floor a much cleaner and un cluttered effect and the offset pneumatic flusher button is paired with the toilet roll holder to maintain a cohesive balance of shape and function.

The white rectified wall tiles which are layed with a 1 mm gap have a horizontal joint which aligns with the hob around the island set bath.
