Connection is made to the courtyard through bifold doors from the new lounge. Highlight windows provide good ventilation during the day when the doors are shut.
The retained dining beside the traditional staircase. When not entertaining, the toilet below the staircase services the ground floor. During dinner parties, guests use the larger bathroom on the first floor.
in this example the lounge was set up centrally.
This is a slightly more cost effective design however uses more block length with the W.C and laundry opposite the retained lightwell.
The retained lightwell provides a good location for the feature garden at the center of this # reference 9 terrace home.
This terrace was designed with an appliance cabinet to the left of the built in coffee machine. A laundry cupboard is also located behind cabinet doors to the right of the ovens.

This addition was set in from the boundary so that the highlight windows brought in natural light and the rainwater tanks were tucked neatly away.

The original rear skillion wing is structurally supported off steel beams below to create the open plan.
On this terrace, an opening roof lets light in while keeping the interior private from a neighbouring property.
the width of this terrace combined with the galley kitchen afforded the dining table to fit adjacent to the kitchen.
